Murrina project – fabrication of an edition of sculptural cast glass tables designed by Marc Newson for Gagosian Gallery. Murrina technique is a traditional old technique with roots in Murrano, Italy, where rods with inner decoration in form of dots or flowers called also Millefiori are used as decorative elements at hotshaped glass pieces. Marc Newsons approach to use this technique to create voluminous kiln casted and thermoformed pieces, was for us one of the most demanding technological achievements, resulting in largest Murrina kiln casted glass pieces ever produced.
